A longer tail spreads the bend over more cable.

Lets you fit it around a cable with a plug on. Turn it off for a stronger sleeve you thread the cable through.

About this generator

The place a cable leaves a box is where it breaks. This spreads the bend and takes the strain.

How to use

  1. Measure the cable and choose a hole a few millimetres bigger.
  2. Set the thickness of the panel.
  3. Print it in TPU, fit it around the cable and push it into the hole until it clicks.

Printing tips

  • TPU only: it has to bend. Print slowly, with no retraction if your printer strings.
  • It prints standing on the end that goes inside the box. No supports.
  • The hole must be at least 2.5 mm bigger than the cable.
  • It does not clamp the cable. Add a cable tie inside the box if the cable can be pulled.

Frequently asked questions

Can I print it in PLA or PETG?

It will snap. The slots in the tail only work in a flexible material.

Does it seal the hole?

It closes the hole against dust, but it is not waterproof.
