About this generator

A case that can take a knock, printed in one go. No screws, no pins: the hinge prints in place and the latches snap shut.

How to use

  1. Set the inside size and the lid height.
  2. Print it open, as shown.
  3. Work the hinge loose by folding the lid a few times, then snap it shut.

Printing tips

  • Print as laid out: open, both halves on the bed. No supports.
  • PETG is tougher than PLA and its latches last longer.
  • Boxes up to 220 mm wide fit a 256 mm bed with the lid next to the box; check the size next to the preview.
  • The hinge needs clean first layers. If it is stuck, raise Hinge clearance by 0.05 mm.

Frequently asked questions

Is it waterproof?

No. It keeps dust and knocks out, but there is no seal.

How many latches does it get?

Two when the box is 90 mm or wider on the outside, otherwise one in the middle.

The latch is too tight or too loose. What can I do?

Latches loosen a little with use. For a firmer or easier snap, print in PETG and adjust the wall thickness by 0.2 mm.
