About this generator

Flat in the drawer, a box when you need it. It also prints faster and with less warping than an upright box.

How to use

  1. Set the inside size and the height.
  2. Print it flat.
  3. Fold the long walls up, then the short walls, and push their tabs through the slots until they click.

Printing tips

  • PETG or PP. PLA hinges snap after a few folds.
  • Set the hinge thickness to a whole number of layers: 0.4 or 0.6 mm at 0.2 mm layers.
  • The flat sheet is the box size plus twice the height in each direction: check it against your bed.
  • Fold each hinge once while the print is still slightly warm for a cleaner crease.

Frequently asked questions

How often can I fold it?

In PETG, dozens of times. In PP, practically for ever. In PLA, a handful of times at best.

Does it hold without glue?

Yes. Each corner is locked by a split tab with barbs. Squeeze the two prongs together to release it.
