The tree is split over as many plates of this size as needed. Use the smaller side of your printer's bed.

All plates puts every plate side by side, too big for one bed. Pick Plate 1, 2, … to download one plate at a time; the preview shows that plate. A plate number above the plate count gives a message.

About this generator

Stack the layers on the pole and turn each one a little further than the one below: the tree becomes a spiral. Turn them back and it's straight again. The Twist setting only shows a pose in the assembled preview; turning is done by hand, there is no mechanism.

How to use

  1. Set the height, the width of the bottom layer and the number of layers.
  2. Set Print bed size to your printer. The tree is packed onto as many plates of that size as needed; download Plate 1, Plate 2, … one at a time and print each plate. The pole lies on its flat side, the topper stands up.
  3. Push the pole into the base. Then thread a spacer and a layer onto it, from the biggest layer to the smallest.
  4. Put the star on the top of the pole and turn the layers into a spiral.

Printing tips

  • If the layers turn stiffly, raise Fit clearance; the pole socket in the base stays snug.
  • Switch Show to Assembled and change Twist to try out a spiral before you print.

Frequently asked questions

Does it turn by itself?

No. You turn the layers by hand; the twist setting only changes the preview.

How many pieces are there?

A base, a pole, a topper, and one layer plus one spacer per layer you choose. In the 3MF all layers are one Layers part and all spacers one Spacers part, each made of several loose pieces; a plate download only holds the pieces of that plate.

The layout is bigger than my bed. What now?

Set Print bed size to your bed and download one plate at a time. With All plates the plates sit side by side, which is too big for one bed.
