About this generator

Every piece prints flat, then the pieces slot together like a cardboard puzzle. The legs and antlers cross the body in halving joints: each piece has a slot to the middle of the joint, so they lock into each other and the reindeer stands on four hooves.

How to use

  1. Choose the height and the antler style. Set Piece thickness and Slot clearance for your printer.
  2. Download the print layout: body, two leg pieces, antlers and the base board, all flat and apart.
  3. Push each leg piece up onto the body slots from below, until the slots meet.
  4. Push the antlers down onto the head, then stand the hooves in the pockets of the base.

Printing tips

  • The slot is Piece thickness plus Slot clearance. If pieces are loose, lower the clearance; if they won't go in, raise it.
  • Switch Show to Assembled to check how the pieces cross before you print.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need glue?

The pieces are designed to hold each other in the slots. How firm the fit is depends on your printer and filament; a drop of glue fixes a loose joint for good.

Can I take it apart again?

Yes. Pull the antlers and legs off the body and the pieces lie flat for storage.
