About this generator

Three rows of flat figures give the scene depth: the stable at the back, the holy family in the middle, visitors in front. Choose which figures you want; the base only gets slots for those. The silhouettes are simple shapes drawn for this generator.

How to use

  1. Set the width of the scene and the gap between the rows.
  2. Turn figures on or off and type the greeting for the front of the base.
  3. Print the base standing up and all pieces flat. At the default width the layout is about 180 × 305 mm, bigger than one bed: print the base with its greeting, the stable and the figures on separate plates.
  4. The Figures part holds all figures as loose pieces; split it into objects in your slicer if they don't fit one plate. Keep the Greeting part with the base: it is the lettering on its front.
  5. Push the stable into the long slot at the back and each figure into its own slot.

Printing tips

  • Print the figures in white or gold and the base in brown or wood-fill filament.
  • If a tab is too tight in its slot, raise Fit clearance a little.

Frequently asked questions

Which slot is for which figure?

In the middle row: Joseph left, the manger in the middle, Mary right. In front, from left to right: shepherd, sheep, donkey, angel. A figure you switch off gets no slot.

Can I paint it?

Yes. The flat pieces are easy to paint, and the 3MF also keeps base, stable, figures and greeting as separate colors.
