About this generator

A real three-dimensional bauble, not a flat ornament. The openings are cut along lines from the centre, so a star stays a star all the way through the wall. It prints as two half shells that a ring joins at the equator.

How to use

  1. Choose the diameter, the pattern and how open it is.
  2. Print both halves standing on their equator rim, and the ring flat.
  3. Push the ring halfway into the bottom half, then press the top half over it.
  4. Hang the bauble by the loop on the collar.

Printing tips

  • Near the top of each half the wall leans far over; small openings there print better than big ones. Lower the openness if your printer struggles.
  • If the ring is tight, raise Fit clearance; a drop of glue makes the joint permanent.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the Christmas Ornament tool?

That one makes flat hangers with a name. This is a hollow sphere with openings, in two halves.

Can I put a light inside?

Only an existing battery LED, never a flame: PLA softens at about 60 °C. The bauble has no holder for one.
