About this generator

Use one set of filters on lenses with different thread sizes. A step-up ring puts big filters on a small lens.

How to use

  1. Pick the lens thread size (printed on the lens cap or inside the lens front).
  2. Pick the filter size.
  3. Print as exported, filter side down.

Printing tips

  • Use a 0.4 mm nozzle with 0.1–0.12 mm layers: filter threads are only 0.75 mm apart.
  • Matte black PLA or PETG keeps reflections down.
  • Calibrate your flow first; over-extrusion closes the fine threads.

Frequently asked questions

Will a step-up ring cause vignetting?

No: the opening is as big as the lens thread allows. A step-down ring can vignette on wide lenses.

The thread doesn't screw in.

Filter threads are very fine. Calibrate your flow, print with 0.1–0.12 mm layers, and raise Thread clearance by 0.05 mm if needed.
