About this generator

Baubles break when they roll around in a box. Each tray has a cup per bauble, and the corner posts are exactly as high as the baubles plus their caps, with 2 mm to spare, so the tray above never rests on the ones below.

How to use

  1. Measure your baubles across and set Bauble diameter. Set Cap and loop room to how far the metal cap and loop stand out on top.
  2. Choose rows and columns. The deck size is shown with the model; check it against your bed.
  3. Print as many trays as you need. Each tray prints on the flat feet under its cups and the bottoms of its posts.
  4. Fill a tray and stack the next one on the pegs of its posts.

Printing tips

  • Large grids get big quickly: 2 × 2 cups of 60 mm baubles are about 160 mm wide.
  • If the pegs are tight, raise Fit clearance a little.

Frequently asked questions

Will different bauble sizes fit?

Smaller baubles fit in the cups but have room to move. For mixed sizes, make one set of trays per size.

How high is one layer?

The cup depth plus the bauble diameter plus the cap room plus 2 mm. Switch Show to Assembled to see two trays stacked.
