About this generator

Buy silica gel loose, by the kilo, and keep it where it is needed. Dry the beads in the oven and use them again.

How to use

  1. Set the size to the space you have.
  2. Check the vent width against your beads.
  3. Print the box and the lid, fill the box and press the lid on.

Printing tips

  • No supports. The lid prints upside down next to the box.
  • PETG or ABS if you dry the beads inside the box in an oven or a filament dryer. PLA softens above 55 °C.
  • Orange and blue indicator beads show when they are saturated: a clear filament lets you see them.

Frequently asked questions

Do the beads fall out?

Not if the vent width is smaller than the beads. The default of 1.2 mm holds all common sizes.

Will it fit inside a filament spool?

Pick Round and set the width to a little under the hole of your spool, usually 50 to 52 mm.
