One solid body, no colors. Works with every slicer.

The ribbon never exceeds this width. Long names make the letters smaller once it is full. The drawing, outline and ring loop can extend beyond it.

About this generator

A name on a ribbon under a drawing, with one smooth outline around both. Pick one of six drawings, type a name and print it as a key tag, a bag tag or a door sign. Long names make the ribbon wider first; after that the letters get smaller.

How to use

  1. Pick a preset for a drawing with colors that suit it, or choose your own.
  2. Type the name and pick a font.
  3. Set the drawing size and how much of it lies behind the ribbon.
  4. Choose the ribbon shape, the outline width and where the ring loop goes.
  5. Download the 3MF to get every color in its own part, or the STL for one color.

Printing tips

  • Print flat, with the back on the bed. No supports.
  • The presets use four colors or fewer. If the outline and the letters share a color, one AMS with four rolls is enough.
  • A wider outline and a thicker backing make small key tags sturdier.
  • On a one-color printer the raised layers still show as relief. You can also swap filament by hand at the top of the backing (2.4 mm by default).

Frequently asked questions

Does the ring loop stay attached?

The loop is one piece with the outline and reaches into the drawing or the ribbon, whichever drawing, tilt or name you choose. Printed strength depends on your material and settings, so make the outline wider for tags that get rough use.

How long can a name be?

Up to 24 characters. If the letters would get smaller than 4 mm, the tool asks you to make the sign wider or the name shorter.

Can I use the drawings on prints I sell?

Yes, the drawings are made for this tool and you may sell prints you make with it.

Why five colors?

Outline, ribbon and light areas, letters and dark details, the drawing's main color and its accent. Parts with the same color share one filament in the 3MF.
