About this generator

Young branches that grow too steeply break more easily and give less fruit. A spreader holds them at a wider angle for a season.

How to use

  1. Measure the distance between trunk and branch where the spreader goes, at the angle you want.
  2. Set the fork sizes to the trunk and branch diameters.
  3. Print flat and wedge it between trunk and branch.

Printing tips

  • PETG or ASA: it stays outside for months.
  • Take it out after one season, before it presses into the bark.

Frequently asked questions

How long should it be?

Hold a stick between trunk and branch at the angle you want and measure it. Most young trees need 10–20 cm.

Will it damage the bark?

Not when the forks fit loosely. Check it now and then and remove it after one growing season.
