About this generator

Use LED bulbs only: they stay cool. The spider ring sits on the top edge and clamps under the lamp's fitting ring.

How to use

  1. Set the size and shape.
  2. Choose your lamp fitting.
  3. Print the shade wide end down, and the spider flat.

Printing tips

  • White or translucent filament gives a soft glow.
  • LED bulbs only: incandescent bulbs get hot enough to deform plastic.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe?

With LED bulbs (under ~10 W) the shade stays cool. Never use incandescent or halogen bulbs.

How does it attach to the lamp?

The flat spider ring rests on a ledge inside the top opening. Its center hole fits over the E27 or E14 lamp holder, and the holder's shade ring clamps it.
